NEIL MANSFIELD is a forty year old filmmaker and single finger typist who lives & teaches in Newcastle, NSW Australia .His debut feature film “Fresh Air” was released to cinemas in 1999. He is interested in cinema that is open, spontaneous and immediate; truthful and ambiguous…He has been developing this unique project for ten years.

cinematographer & producer:

TOBY RALPH has been working in documentary for the BBC & Channel 4 in London for the last 10 years, and is now shooting in Sydney.Toby and Neil made a catalogue of no budget music videos together on 16mm film back in the good old days.

actor, writer & poet:

MARIN MIMICA met Neil ten years ago when he starred in Fresh Air. An idiosyncratic method actor who trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.Marin wrote all the poems & monologues for Streetsweeper: his dynamic performance is the heart & soul of the film..Marin is the streetsweeper. His mesmerising sad clown performance is unique to Australian cinema

sound recordist:

PIP MASON has worked in the entertainment industry for nearly thirty years.He started as a musician & engineer, wrote soundtracks for docos and moved into Sound Recording. Pip & Neil met at a seaside café in Newcastle.

editor:

BERNARD ZELVIS is a television director & editor with an enormous CV.He met Neil back stage at a rock concert, where they bonded over a mutual appreciation for good coffee & unusual moving pictures.

sound designer:

ANDREW BELLETTY met Neil working at the national film unit, Film Australia, almost twenty years ago, where they planned a revolution but made music videos instead.Andrew was the sound designer on Fresh Air, and many other local films, before rice fever led him to the land of film opportunity, Bollywood.

JAMES MISBRENER is a self-taught singer -songwriter & multi-instrumentalist of eclectic taste.He wrote & performed some stand-out songs for the Fresh Air soundtrack and released a critically acclaimed album, as Jim Dead.From his modest home studio, James is changing the face of modern music, one bar at a time.
