We made the film, against the odds — and we thought it was a festival film, but now it’s obvious it isn’t — so we are going to tour & screen the film ourselves, soon-ish, in make-shift fly-by-night grass-roots venues. From Brisbane to Adelaide. Any ideas where & for whom?

The time has come for Streetsweeper to go on tour.

We want to screen our film to as many folks as we can from Brisbane to Adelaide come September.

Are there any independent cinemas left?

If so we want to know about them. We also want to find any other great alternative screening venues you may know of…

I start teaching again tomorrow–hmmm…–which will suck up a lot of my time but it will also mean that I should be able to get some money together so that then we can start the next phase.

STRTSWPR STAGE 3: GUERILLA EXHIBITION.

People often ask me, When can we get a copy of Streetsweeper on dvd? And my stock response is, Don’t y’wanna watch it on a big screen, with an attentive audience?

We own Streetsweeper & so we can do what we like with it.

This is the age of “Slow Cinema” and the “Long Tail”–we are not at the mercy of the quick septic buck!–and that means that we can screen our film to whoever we like, where ever we like it, when ever we like, and over whatever time frame we like.

So, if you really want a screening–in your State, City, Town, Street, House &/or Yard?–then let us know.  If it’s worthwhile–that is, if it doesn’t put us even further out of pocket– then there’s a good chance we’ll do it!
