Neil and I will both be heading down to the ACMI for Saturday’s screening. I had hoped to show the film on true HD – but it turns out that the cinema only has a digibeta player, which is okayish at best. We’ve only managed a proper HD screening once, and that was at the Cast and Crew in the Tom Mann theatre. It looked absolutely amazing, so I was getting very excited about seeing it in HD again. We will see if I can’t pull some strings on this one… I may just have to turn up with the right player in hand!

I invited a bunch of industry types, but it seems that Cannes provides a pretty big distraction! If the insiders aren’t over there, they are preoccupied with it here!

I am also hoping that the fruit shops of Melbourne’s CBD are closed for the day, because I don’t want any fruit available for the discussion after the film! We could just end up dodging some missiles from the audience. TR

We made the film, against the odds — and we thought it was a festival film, but now it’s obvious it isn’t — so we are going to tour & screen the film ourselves, soon-ish, in make-shift fly-by-night grass-roots venues. From Brisbane to Adelaide. Any ideas where & for whom?

looks like the media were present at the Sydney Cast and Crew Screening after all. Neil’s gives a high comedy performance in his introduction to the film. Look out – they’ll be after you next. TR

The Newcastle Crew screening went down really well! Good night. Expected about 30 & got twice as many: some of the Gen Y TAFE crew (Riley & Brenton), Bernie (the co-editor) came up from Sydney & lots of sponsors, friends & neighbours (mostly from the wrong side of the tracks, i.e. Islington & Wickham) came to enjoy the film, with cheese, cabanossi & cheap beers, mmm! Okay, the SYDNEY CAST & CREW SCREENING is on this weekend, Saturday 18th August, 7.30 for 8pm at the Tom Mann Theatre (AMWU) Chalmers St. Sydney (near Central Station & Devonshire St).
